Editorial Policy

This policy explains how we create content: our editorial standards, the process every article follows, and the safeguards that keep our information accurate and honest.

Editorial standards

All content is written to be accurate, clear, and non-misleading. We avoid hype, guarantees, and pressure tactics. We never advise anyone to stop paying loans or maintenance fees, and we never publish fabricated statistics, reviews, or outcomes.

Content creation process

  • Research using authoritative, public sources.
  • Drafting by an editorial author in plain language.
  • Fact-checking against cited sources.
  • Compliance review for accuracy and honest framing.
  • Publication, followed by periodic re-review and updates.

Fact-checking and source verification

Every substantive claim is checked before publication. Details of that process are described in our Fact-Checking Policy and our Sources & Citations Policy.

Author and reviewer qualifications

Authors research and write our content; reviewers check it for accuracy and compliance. We describe roles generically and publish individual credentials only after verification. See our Authors page and our Review Policy.

Corrections and conflict of interest

When we find or are told about an error, we fix it transparently under our Corrections Policy.

We disclose material relationships that could create a conflict of interest and do not let advertising or affiliate relationships dictate our editorial conclusions.
