Terms of Use
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of exitmyshare.com and the services described on it, operated by Exit My Share. They include important disclosures about our relationship with independent attorneys and law firms.
- Effective date:
- Last updated:
This document is an attorney-review draft. It is a starting point for general informational purposes and must be reviewed and finalized by a licensed attorney before it is relied upon as Exit My Share’s binding Terms of Use. Sections marked below require additional attorney confirmation.
1. Effective Date and Last Updated
These Terms are effective as of July 12, 2026 and were last updated on July 12, 2026. They apply to your use of exitmyshare.com and any related pages, forms, and telephone lines operated by Exit My Share. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date and, where required, provide additional notice.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using exitmyshare.com, submitting a form, calling us, or otherwise interacting with our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the website or our services.
3. Eligibility
Our website and services are intended for individuals who are at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding agreement, and who reside in or have a timeshare interest connected to the United States. By using the site, you represent that you meet these requirements. We do not knowingly permit use of the site by anyone who does not meet them.
4. Description of Exit My Share
Exit My Share provides general information about timeshare ownership and timeshare exit options and may collect information about a consumer’s timeshare situation to help evaluate whether that consumer may benefit from speaking with an independent attorney or law firm. Where appropriate, Exit My Share may arrange a consultation with, connect a consumer to, or transfer or redirect a consumer’s telephone call to one or more independent attorneys or law firms.
Exit My Share does not provide legal advice or legal representation, does not negotiate directly with resorts, developers, or lenders on a consumer’s behalf as legal representation, and does not guarantee that any timeshare will be cancelled, terminated, or otherwise resolved.
5. Exit My Share Is Not a Law Firm
Exit My Share is not a law firm. Exit My Share does not employ attorneys to represent consumers, does not provide legal advice, does not provide legal representation, and does not act as your lawyer in any matter. Nothing on this website, in our communications, or in any consultation arranged by Exit My Share should be understood as legal advice about your specific situation.
If you need legal advice about your timeshare contract or your rights, you should consult with a licensed attorney directly. Exit My Share may help facilitate that connection, but the decision to retain an attorney, and the terms of any engagement, are between you and that independent attorney or law firm.
6. No Attorney-Client Relationship
Your use of this website, your submission of a form, your telephone call with us, or your connection to an independent attorney or law firm does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and Exit My Share. Exit My Share cannot form an attorney-client relationship with anyone because it is not a law firm.
An attorney-client relationship, if one is formed, exists only between you and an independent attorney or law firm, and only after that attorney or firm agrees, under its own separate engagement terms, to represent you. Information you submit to Exit My Share before an attorney agrees to represent you may not be protected by attorney-client privilege, and you should avoid including highly sensitive information in your submissions. See Sensitive Information and Documents.
7. Independent Attorneys and Law Firms
Exit My Share works with a network of independent, qualified, licensed attorneys and independent law firms (together, our “attorney network”) who may evaluate matters referred by Exit My Share. These attorneys and law firms are independent businesses and independent professionals.
Unless specifically identified and verified otherwise, participating attorneys and law firms are not employees, agents, in-house counsel, partners, or representatives of Exit My Share. Exit My Share does not supervise, direct, or control any attorney’s professional judgment, staffing, case strategy, or legal advice. Each attorney and law firm is solely responsible for its own professional conduct and its compliance with the rules of professional responsibility in its jurisdiction.
8. Referral, Matching, and Call-Transfer Authorization
When you submit an intake or consultation form, request information, or ask to speak with legal help, you authorize Exit My Share to use the information you submit to respond to your request and, when appropriate, to share your relevant contact and timeshare information with one or more independent licensed attorneys or law firms that may evaluate your matter.
You also authorize Exit My Share, where you have given permission on a specific call, to transfer or redirect that telephone call to an independent attorney or law firm. See Telephone Calls and Call Transfers for the notice we provide before any transfer. Submitting a form or participating in a call does not guarantee that any attorney or law firm will accept your matter, and it does not create any obligation for an attorney to do so.
9. Financial Relationship Disclosure
Exit My Share may receive compensation for marketing, advertising, intake, lead-generation, technology, referral, or connection services, where permitted by applicable law, when a consumer is connected with a participating independent attorney or law firm. This means Exit My Share may be paid in connection with referring or connecting you to an attorney or law firm, regardless of whether that attorney or firm ultimately accepts your matter or the outcome of any engagement.
Any compensation Exit My Share receives does not increase the fees you pay to an independent attorney or law firm beyond what you separately agree to with that attorney or firm, and it does not give Exit My Share control over an attorney’s independent professional judgment. Specific compensation structures are governed by our agreements with participating attorneys and law firms and by applicable professional-responsibility and consumer-protection rules.
Attorney-review section — final language to be confirmed by licensed counsel before this draft is treated as binding.
10. No Guarantees
Exit My Share makes no guarantee of any specific outcome, including but not limited to: that you are eligible for any particular exit option, that any attorney or law firm will accept your matter, that any timeshare contract will be cancelled, rescinded, or terminated, that any deed will be transferred or accepted back by a resort or developer, that your credit will be protected, or that you will save any specific amount of money. Timeshare exit outcomes depend on your contract, the resort or developer, your ownership type, your payment status, and applicable state law, among other factors, and outcomes vary from person to person.
11. No Advice to Stop Payments
Exit My Share does not advise you to stop making payments on any timeshare loan, mortgage, or maintenance fee, and nothing on this website or in any communication from Exit My Share should be understood as such advice. Stopping payments without professional guidance can result in negative consequences, including late fees, collection activity, credit damage, foreclosure of a timeshare interest, or litigation. If you are considering stopping payments, you should first speak with a licensed attorney or a qualified financial professional about the possible consequences for your situation.
12. Accuracy of Information
The content on this website is provided for general informational purposes about timeshare ownership and timeshare exit options. While we make reasonable efforts to keep information current and accurate, laws, programs, and resort policies change, and we do not warrant that all content is complete, current, or error-free for your specific situation. You should independently verify information that is important to your decisions and, where appropriate, confirm it with a licensed attorney or the relevant resort, developer, or government agency.
13. No Professional Tax, Financial, or Real Estate Advice
In addition to not providing legal advice, Exit My Share does not provide tax advice, financial planning advice, accounting advice, credit-repair advice, or real estate brokerage advice. General information on this website relating to those topics is not a substitute for advice from a qualified, licensed professional in the relevant field. You should consult a qualified tax professional, financial advisor, or real estate professional before making decisions that may affect your taxes, finances, or property interests.
14. User Responsibilities
When you use this website or our services, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information when you contact us or complete a form.
- Use the website only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms.
- Maintain the confidentiality of any account credentials or access details, if applicable.
- Promptly notify us of any unauthorized use of your information that you become aware of.
- Review any separate engagement terms carefully before agreeing to representation by an independent attorney or law firm.
15. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the website for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable local, state, or federal law.
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information through any form or telephone call.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the website, our systems, or another user’s information.
- Interfere with or disrupt the website, its servers, or its networks, including through malware, scraping, or automated bots that are not expressly permitted.
- Copy, reproduce, or exploit website content beyond what is permitted under these Terms or applicable law.
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
- Use the website to harass, threaten, or abuse Exit My Share personnel, participating attorneys, or other users.
16. Sensitive Information and Documents
Please do not submit Social Security numbers, full financial-account numbers, credit or debit card numbers, passwords, or other highly sensitive identifiers through our online forms. We do not request this information to begin a review of your situation. If a participating independent attorney or law firm later requests sensitive documents as part of a separate engagement, that request and the handling of those documents are governed by that attorney’s or firm’s own practices, not by Exit My Share.
For information on how we handle documents you do choose to share with us, see our Security & Document Handling page.
17. Electronic Communications
By providing your email address or telephone number, you consent to receive electronic communications from Exit My Share, including emails and, where you separately opt in, text messages, related to your request. You can withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe or opt-out instructions provided, or by replying STOP to a text message. Message and data rates may apply to text messages; see our SMS Terms for details. Certain operational or transactional communications may continue even after you opt out of marketing messages, where permitted by law.
18. Telephone Calls and Call Transfers
When you call us, ask us to call you, or provide a telephone number through a form, you may be contacted by telephone regarding your request. Calls may be monitored, recorded, or transcribed for quality, training, compliance, and record-keeping purposes, where permitted by applicable law, and we will provide notice or obtain consent where the law requires it.
Notice before a call transfer
Before transferring a live call to an independent attorney or law firm, we will provide a notice along these lines: “With your permission, we can transfer your call to an independent attorney or law firm that may evaluate your matter. The attorney is not an employee of Exit My Share, and the transfer does not guarantee that the attorney will accept your matter.” Where appropriate, we will ask for your affirmative permission before completing the transfer, and we will not complete the transfer if you decline.
Once a call is transferred or redirected, the independent attorney or law firm handles the call under its own practices and policies, and Exit My Share is not responsible for the conduct of that call.
19. Intellectual Property
The website, including its text, graphics, logos, page layout, and software (excluding content you submit), is owned by Exit My Share or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. You may view and print pages of the website for your personal, non-commercial use, provided you do not remove any copyright or other proprietary notices. You may not otherwise copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from website content without our prior written permission, except as permitted by applicable law.
20. User Submissions
When you submit information through a form, email, or telephone call (“User Submissions”), you represent that the information is accurate and that you have the right to submit it. You grant Exit My Share a limited license to use your User Submissions to respond to your request, evaluate your situation, and, when appropriate, share relevant information with independent attorneys or law firms as described in these Terms and in our Privacy Policy.
21. Feedback
If you send us suggestions, ideas, or other feedback about the website or our services, you agree that we may use that feedback without restriction or compensation to you, and that providing feedback does not create any obligation for us to implement it or to keep it confidential.
22. Third-Party Websites and Services
This website may link to, or be linked from, third-party websites, including the websites of independent attorneys, law firms, resorts, developers, and government agencies. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of third-party websites. Links are provided for convenience and do not imply endorsement. Once you leave our website or are connected to an independent attorney or law firm, their own terms and privacy practices govern your interaction with them.
23. Website Availability
We aim to keep the website available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure access at all times. We may suspend, restrict, or discontinue all or part of the website, temporarily or permanently, for maintenance, updates, security, or other operational reasons, without notice and without liability to you.
24. Disclaimer of Warranties
The website and all content, information, and services made available through it are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade. Exit My Share does not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that any information obtained through the website will be accurate or reliable for your specific circumstances.

25. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Exit My Share, its owners, officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the website or our services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. To the extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the website will not exceed the amount, if any, you paid to Exit My Share directly for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit any rights you may have that cannot be limited or waived under applicable consumer-protection law.

26. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Exit My Share, its owners, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the website, or your submission of false or misleading information, except to the extent such claims result from Exit My Share’s own violation of applicable law.
Attorney-review section — final language to be confirmed by licensed counsel before this draft is treated as binding.
27. Complaints and Informal Resolution
If you have a concern about our website or services, we encourage you to contact us first using the details in Contact Information or through our Complaints & Resolution Policy so we can try to address it directly. Complaints about the professional conduct of an independent attorney or law firm should be directed to that attorney or firm, and, where appropriate, to the relevant state bar or attorney regulatory authority.
28. Dispute Resolution
We encourage you to first raise any dispute with us informally as described in Complaints and Informal Resolution, so that we have an opportunity to resolve it. This draft does not currently include a mandatory binding arbitration clause or class-action waiver. Whether to include such provisions, and their specific terms, is a business and legal decision to be made with licensed counsel before this document is finalized.

29. Governing Law and Venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which Exit My Share maintains its principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, except that mandatory consumer-protection laws of your state of residence may also apply and are not displaced by this provision. Subject to Dispute Resolution, any legal action arising out of or related to these Terms or the website will be brought in the state or federal courts located in that same state, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

30. Termination or Suspension
We may suspend or terminate your access to the website or our services, without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in prohibited conduct, or created risk or legal exposure for Exit My Share, participating attorneys, or other users. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including, without limitation, Intellectual Property, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, and Governing Law and Venue — will survive.
31. Changes to the Website
We may add, change, or remove features, content, or functionality of the website at any time, and may impose limits on certain features, without notice and without liability to you.
32. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted where required by law. Your continued use of the website after an update takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you should stop using the website.
33. Assignment
You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign or transfer these Terms, in whole or in part, without restriction, including in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.
34. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, void, or unenforceable, that provision will be deemed severable from these Terms and will not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions, which will remain in full force and effect.
35. No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of that right or provision. Any waiver of any provision of these Terms will be effective only if in writing and signed by an authorized representative of Exit My Share.
36. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and SMS Terms, constitute the entire agreement between you and Exit My Share regarding your use of the website, and supersede any prior agreements between you and Exit My Share regarding the website. These Terms do not govern, and are separate from, any engagement agreement you may sign directly with an independent attorney or law firm.
